HISTORY OF CENTRAL LUZON REGION LEAGUE OF PFCCO
On the rainy and stormy days of July 2001, GM Rufino Casas, Chair. Romeo de Jesus, GM Roberto Mascariña, PFCCO Vice-Chairman, and Mr. Ben Hur Amdor, NCR League Secretary, trooped to several cooperatives in Bataan, Zambales, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija and some towns in Bulacan leading to the formation of CLRL. After the preparation of its By-laws, Articles of cooperation, and other necessary documents needed in registration of CLRL to CDA, an organizational meeting was held on July 27, 2001, which was arranged by nineteen (19) coop-representatives. Mr. Romeo de Jesus was elected as the CLRL BOD Chairman, Mr. Conrado Santos of St. Joseph MPC as Vice-Chairman, Ms. Elsie Yap of SAMAVECO as Treasurer, and Noli San Miguel of Prenza MPC as Secretary.
On October 20, 2001, the International Credit Union Week celebration was hosted by the Central Luzon Region League under the initiative of one of its primary members, the San Jose Del Monte KBK. During the Social Night affair, the Oath-taking of the newly elected officers of the newly organized league was featured.
On January 11, 2002, the registration of the CLRL of PFCCO was approved by the CDA under Registration Certificate No. PGA-KAT-064. This was delayed for two (2) months because the primaries were reluctant to join the CLRL due to the declining economic operation of PFCCO.
The first Board meeting was held on February 16, 2002 at SJDM KBK building at 1:00 p.m. and was attended by eight (8) board members and its interim Acting Manager Mr. Robert de Jesus. After the discussion on different topics regarding the future business development of the League, they agreed to hold the League’s first General Assembly on April 19, 2002, 1:00 p.m. at St. Martin of Tours KBP building, Bunlo, Bocaue, Bulacan.
